Leaking/Dripping
Your K-Guard is designed to take in a large volume of water and flush it all out through the downspouts. When wet, the exterior of the aluminum may lightly drip just like everything else. But rest assured that the trough will efficiently guide every bit of water flowing off the roof to its ultimate destination. If you notice unusual dripping from the endcaps after the rain in dried up, call the office to have our pros take a look. This is an extremely rare occurrence, but very easy to fix; and under warranty!
Overflowing
While also very rare, legitimate overflowing is typically an easy fix and always covered under your K-Guard warranty. Overflow happens when the gutter is clogged or filled with too much water, causing it to pour over the sides of the trough. Because K-Guard is designed to to resist clogging and its size allows for high volumes of water, we almost never see this happen.
Dirt and/or Mold Buildup
Your K-Guard’s paint finish is, you guessed it, covered under warranty! The collection of dirt or mold on the outside of the gutter is normal, and can usually be maintained with a garden hose. More good news? While sometimes unsightly, exterior dirt almost never affects the function of the gutter system. If you would like to refresh the look of your gutters, we recommend cleaning them with Mold Armor, or you can contact us to schedule a wash.
Water Behind the Gutter
If you notice any water finding its way behind your gutter, it is most likely due to a lack of drip edge. Every new roof is typically installed with drip edge, but sometimes it is left out. This lack of protection can rot the fascia board behind the gutter and cause costly damages. While drip edge is a roofing product, we find that these issues a bit less often with K-Guard than with traditional open systems.
