K-Guard Leaf Free Gutter System Lifetime Warranty
All K-Guard Gutter Systems come with a Lifetime Clog-Free Warranty.
Home Evolutions VA (HEVA) provides an additional Limited Lifetime Installation Warranty which will cover any leaking, sagging or pulling away of the gutter other than as a result of Force Majeure, the actions of anyone other than a HEVA employee, improper installation by any previous company or individual, or material deterioration behind the gutter (fascia board and rafter tails). Force Majeure includes but is not limited to hurricanes, tornadoes, wind damage, ice and snow damage, trees falling, etc. Our material supplier offers a 20-year (prorated) paint finish warranty. This warranty is valid only if the system remains properly installed (not painted, repaired or removed/reinstalled by any other contractor, company or individual).
This is a continuous warranty regardless of ownership. If the home/building is sold, we recommend that the new owner contact HEVA so that we can update our records with their information.
FASCIA BOARD
While we pitch the gutter system towards the downspout, in some cases the foundations of houses / buildings have settled causing the fascia board not to be level. Occasionally, this will result in the appearance that the new gutter system is installed with an improper slope, when in fact, it is properly sloped to allow the water to flow to the downspout. This can be several inches or more below the roof edges. Water may overshoot the area where the gutter is at its lowest point.
DRIP EDGE
Drip Edge is recommended for optimal transition of water from the roof to the gutter. Drip Edge is a roofing product; absence of such will potentially allow water to run behind the gutter. This would be considered a roofing issue, not a gutter issue.
ROOF CONDITIONS
The edge of the existing roof shingles or flashing may be revealed after installation of the gutter system. These conditions were previously hidden by the profile of the old gutters. We are not liable for pre-existing roofing related conditions. Examples: curled or deformed shingles due to resting on gutter spikes, screens or covers; broken shingles; missing shingles; multiple shingle layers; improper shingle overhangs, etc. These are roofing problems NOT gutter problems.
ROOF VALLEYS
Roof valleys (where two roof pitches meet together) will cause water to overshoot ANY gutter system. When this occurs, it allows the water to have an unusual concentration of waterflow. This creates a force with pressure that is unstoppable. Therefore, during a heavy rain you may
notice approximately 30% overshooting.
OUTSIDE OF GUTTERS
The K-Guard System has a hood that may become dirty over time due to trees and other sorts of dirt, sap, and debris. THIS IS NOT CONSIDERED A CLOG WITHIN THE GUTTER SYSTEM. Anything INSIDE your gutters that is preventing water from flowing freely is a clog and covered under your warranty. Anything on top of the gutters, screens, or valleys is not covered by warranty. We can provide you an estimate to wash the outside of your gutters as needed.
HOOD REMOVAL/RE-INSTALLATION
The K-Guard System does not need to be removed for roofing installation; however we do recommend a removal/re-installation of the hood if any work is going to be done above the gutter system, at the Customer’s expense. HEVA is not liable for any damage caused by any other contractors (i.e. roof contractors).
